Scenarist

Terms of Use

The agreement covering your use of Scenarist for iPhone and iPad.

Scene heading

Licence

Scenarist is licensed, not sold. Downloading the app grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use it on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, which applies to this app in full.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, redistribute, or sublicense the app.

Character

Your work is yours

You retain all rights to every screenplay, note, and file you create in Scenarist. The developer claims no ownership, licence, or interest in your content, and has no ability to access it.

Action

Subscriptions and purchases

Scenarist is free to use. Scenarist Pro is available as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time Lifetime unlock.

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store Terms of Service; the developer cannot issue them directly.

Action

Back up your work

Scenarist saves continuously, supports iCloud sync, and can restore deleted scripts for 30 days. Even so, you are responsible for keeping your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. Export important drafts to PDF, .fdx, or Fountain and keep copies elsewhere.

Scene heading

Warranty and liability

Scenarist is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The developer does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost content or lost profits. Total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Action

General

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding its conflict of law rules, and without limiting any statutory rights you have where you live.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Continued use of the app after an update to these terms constitutes acceptance of the updated version.

Questions can be sent through Settings → Contact Support in the app.
